Qatar: Qatar Islamic Insurance Group has obtained a license to open a branch in India to conduct reinsurance business. In a statement posted on Qatar Stock Exchange Wednesday, the Group announced that it had obtained a license from the authorities of the International Financial Services Center in Gift City in Gujarat to open a branch in India to conduct reinsurance business.
According to Qatar News Agency, the license will enable the Group to expand its presence in the Indian market, allowing it to tap into the growing demand for reinsurance services in the region. This strategic move marks an important step for Qatar Islamic Insurance Group as it seeks to broaden its international footprint and enhance its business operations in new markets.
The branch in India will focus on providing reinsurance solutions, which are expected to support the development and stability of the local insurance industry.
