Qatar Leads Arab Social Affairs Ministers Council Session in Jordan

Amman: The State of Qatar participated in the 45th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs and the Arab Conference on the Implementation of the Doha Declaration, which took place in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The gathering included ministers and senior officials responsible for social affairs across the Arab region.

According to Qatar News Agency, HE Minister of Social Development and Family Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi led the Qatari delegation and chaired the opening session of the Arab Conference. The focus was on the social and developmental messages of the Doha Declaration, as issued by the Second World Summit for Social Development.

In her address, HE Al Misnad emphasized the shared Arab commitment to advancing social development and implementing the priorities of the Doha Declaration into actionable policies. These priorities focus on eradicating poverty, promoting decent work, expanding economic opportunities, and fostering inclusive societies for sustainable and effective social policies.

She stressed the need for coordinated Arab efforts that respect the region's geographic, social, and economic diversity. The aim is to empower Arab citizens and enhance societal resilience in the face of accelerating challenges, while upholding the principle of leaving no one behind.

HE Al Misnad also highlighted the 2025 Doha Political Declaration, endorsed by consensus at the Second World Summit, which renews global commitment to human dignity and draws a clear link between social justice, development, peace, security, and human rights.

Qatar's national priorities in social development, aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030, were also outlined by HE Al Misnad. These include strengthening social services, empowering families, and supporting children, youth, and the elderly. The 2025-2030 Social Development Strategy, launched under the theme "From Care to Empowerment," serves as the implementation framework, grounded in international best practices.

The strategy focuses on poverty eradication, full and productive employment, social inclusion, and innovative social protection systems that support family cohesion, women's empowerment, and the care of vulnerable groups such as persons with disabilities, the elderly, orphans, widows, and divorcees.

Additionally, the minister highlighted efforts in economic and social empowerment through support for micro-enterprises, social entrepreneurship, vocational training, and future job readiness, alongside partnerships with charitable organizations and civil society.

Concluding her remarks, HE Al Misnad expressed gratitude to Jordan for its warm hospitality and organization, hoping that the outcomes of the session and conference will translate the Doha Declaration's goals into practical, impactful plans that strengthen Arab societies and promote regional solidarity.
