Poland: The Qatar paramotor team, affiliated with the Qatar Air Sports Committee at the Special Forces, were crowned champions of the Poland Open, after securing three gold medals and one silver at the competition held from August 18 to 22.
According to Qatar News Agency, the championship brought together 31 pilots representing Qatar, France, the Czech Republic, Poland, Germany, Finland, and the United States. The Qatari team delivered a series of impressive performances, achieving outstanding results across several categories.
Hayan Al Ahbabi claimed the gold medal in the PL1 Trike category, while Ibrahim Al Banna took silver. Nayef Al Balushi won gold in the Foot-Launch category. Saeed Hamad Al Marri also secured first place and the gold medal in the Foot-Launch Serial category, completing Qatar's campaign with an impressive haul of three gold medals and one silver.
The results further underlined the Qatari team's strong presence and growing reputation on the international paramotor scene. Paramotor team captain Saeed Abdullah Al Marri expressed his pride in the team's achievement, hoping that the squad would maintain its winning momentum and claim further victories and medals at upcoming competitions.
Gold medallist Saeed Hamad Al Marri, who triumphed in the Foot-Launch category, said: "We dedicate this achievement to Qatari sport." He noted that the championship featured a distinguished field of competitors, adding that the team's success represents a continuation of its previous achievements. He also stressed that the accomplishment would not have been possible without the strong support the team receives from all those involved.
Hayan Al Ahbabi, gold medallist in the Trike category, said winning medals at a high-level championship featuring such strong competition was an important achievement and a continuation of the Qatar team's series of successes. He expressed his hope of achieving further accomplishments in upcoming competitions. He noted that the technical standard of the championship was high, with intense competition and all participants determined to secure victory. The Qatari pilots, he added, rose to the occasion and succeeded in achieving their objective.
Nayef Youssef Al Balushi, gold medallist in the Foot-Launch category, said winning the gold medal was no easy task given the strength of the competition and the excitement throughout the championship. He described the race as a fierce battle among the competitors, adding that the team ultimately achieved its goal and proudly raised the Qatari flag. Meanwhile, Ibrahim Al Banna, who finished second and claimed silver in the Trike category, said reaching the podium was a difficult task amid the intense competition. He noted that the race featured a closely fought battle among the pilots, but the Qatari team succeeded in achieving its objective and raising the Qatari flag high in the skies over Poland.
