Post: Qatar Participates in Arab League’s Emergency Session on Palestinian Protection

Cairo:The State of Qatar took part in an Arab League extraordinary session aimed at discussing mechanisms for providing international protection for Palestinians and upholding international law concerning Jerusalem's legal status and international character.

According to Qatar News Agency, the session, held at the level of permanent representatives at the League's General Secretariat in Cairo, focused on exploring Arab and international efforts to address escalating violence by Israeli occupation forces and settlers against Palestinians and their property.

The Qatari delegation was led by Amna Abdulrahman Al Sulaiti, First Secretary at the Permanent Delegation of the State of Qatar to the League. The session was convened at the request of the State of Palestine, with support from member states, to address actions by the Israeli occupation government and military, which are seen as part of a systematic policy to depopulate Palestinian communities, expand settlements, and undermine the two-state solution.

Additionally, the session discussed violations affecting the legal status and international character of occupied Jerusalem, following the opening of embassies there by some countries.
