Qatar Secures Seventh Place in 2026 AVC Men’s Volleyball Cup

Doha: The Qatar men's volleyball team concluded their run in the 2026 AVC Men's Volleyball Cup in Ahmedabad, India, by securing seventh place. They achieved this with a decisive 3-1 victory over Chinese Taipei in the classification match for seventh and eighth places.

According to Qatar News Agency, the match saw Qatar bounce back after dropping the first set, with set scores of 30-32, 25-22, 25-18, and 25-15. This victory marked Qatar's second win in the tournament, showcasing their resilience and ability to recover from early setbacks.

Qatar's journey in the tournament began in Pool B, where they finished fourth. They managed a win against Thailand but faced defeats from Oman, Indonesia, and South Korea. These results led them to the classification match against Chinese Taipei for seventh place.

On the tournament's final day, Indonesia emerged as champions by defeating South Korea in straight sets. Hosts India claimed third place after a 3-1 victory over Bahrain. Meanwhile, Kazakhstan secured fifth place by overcoming Thailand with a 3-1 scoreline. Oman wrapped up the standings in ninth place with a win against New Zealand, which finished tenth.
