Doha: The Qatar Stock Exchange ended Sunday's session on a positive note, with the benchmark index increasing by 45.17 points, or 0.43%, to settle at 10,653.13.
According to Qatar News Agency, trading activity was notably strong, with 95.79 million shares being traded, amounting to QAR 258.8 million across 14,730 transactions. These transactions spanned all sectors, demonstrating a mixed performance in the market. Specifically, the shares of 17 companies rose, while 34 companies saw their shares decline, and two companies' shares remained unchanged from their previous closing prices.
The market capitalisation saw a rise, reaching QAR 636.61 billion compared to QAR 633.74 billion at the close of the previous session. This session's positive movement occurs amidst broader fluctuations in the regional markets, as investors remain attentive to global energy trends and interest rate expectations.
