Doha:Qatari Businessmen Association has engaged with India's Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to explore ways to strengthen economic ties between Qatar and India. The discussions focused on enhancing investment opportunities and cooperation between the private sectors of both nations.
According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting addressed potential partnerships in developing sectors, aiming to diversify and increase bilateral trade. Both parties encouraged Qatari and Indian companies to form partnerships that leverage the substantial economic potential of their countries.
Minister Sitharaman highlighted India's strategic market for Qatari investors, citing its industrial and technological base. She also noted Qatar's advanced investment environment and infrastructure as advantageous for Indian firms seeking access to Gulf markets.
HE Sheikh Nawaf Nasser bin Khalid Al-Thani emphasized the growing momentum of Qatar-India relations, supported by strategic and economic interests. He anticipated that the private sector would have significant opportunities to develop these relations into long-term investments.
The discussion identified various sectors for potential cooperation, including technology, digital economy, advanced industries, healthcare, and renewable energy. The meeting also considered how to utilize Qatar's strategic location and India's industrial capabilities to enhance trade flows.
The Qatari Businessmen Association reaffirmed its commitment to engage with the Indian business community, aiming to build direct partnerships and capitalize on the current momentum to boost investment and trade.
