Qatari Basketball Team Exits FIBA Asia Cup After Loss to Australia

Doha: The Qatar basketball team lost 82-110 to its Australian counterpart in their match on Sunday within the last round of Group A of the FIBA Asia Cup, which is being held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This defeat marked the end of Qatar's journey in the tournament after a series of challenging matches.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Qatari team exited the Asia Cup after losing its third match against Australia, following two previous losses. In their first-round match, Qatar narrowly lost to Lebanon with a score of 80-84. The second round saw Qatar face South Korea, where they were defeated 83-97. These consecutive losses placed Qatar at the bottom of Group A, resulting in their exit from the tournament.

Australia, on the other hand, secured the top position in Group A by winning all three of its matches, thus earning a direct qualification to the quarter-finals. Qatar finished fourth in the group, unable to advance further in the competition. The tournament continues with Australia moving forward, showcasing their strong performance in the initial rounds.
