Qatari Hajj Mission Intensifies Inspections to Ensure Pilgrim Accommodation Readiness

Doha: The Qatari Hajj Mission's Surveillance and Inspection Unit is intensifying its efforts to inspect the accommodation facilities of Qatar's pilgrims and pilgrimage operators as part of preparations to receive them starting from the 4th of Dhu al-Hijjah. These inspections aim to ensure that all facilities meet the highest standards, including health and food requirements, to provide a secure environment for pilgrims throughout their religious journey.

According to Qatar News Agency, Mohammed Hassan Al Kaabi, head of the Qatari Hajj Mission's Surveillance and Inspection Unit, stated that these tours are part of an integrated surveillance system. This system ensures that all pilgrimage operators comply with the mission-approved conditions and specifications. Inspections cover bedrooms, public utilities, prayer rooms, restaurants, and reception lobbies to verify sanitation levels and readiness based on top-tier criteria.

Al Kaabi emphasized that the inspections extend to kitchens and food preparation areas, where appliances are checked for validity and adherence to health standards. Health and food safety inspectors from the Ministry of Municipality participate in these inspections to ensure compliance with approved standards.

This initiative highlights the coordinated efforts of state institutions to provide high-quality care for Qatari pilgrims, ensuring their safety during their stay and commutation. Al Kaabi clarified that the operation began ahead of the Hajj preparations, with initial tours of operators' facilities to gather feedback and ensure readiness before pilgrims' arrival.

Pilgrims are encouraged to evaluate pilgrimage operators online through forms sent to their smartphones, a move Al Kaabi considers crucial for enhancing performance and services. He assured that the surveillance tours will continue throughout the Hajj season to maintain a safe environment for Qatari pilgrims.

The inspections also cover tents in the Holy Sites in collaboration with the Sites Service Unit to ensure safety and health compliance. Notably, the mission offers a free call service for all Qatari pilgrims, available via hotline 132 in Qatar, or 8003040444 in Saudi Arabia, to address complaints and inquiries promptly.

The unit plays a key role in coordinating with supportive units by handling complaints and inquiries efficiently. These efforts form part of a collaborative system between the Qatari mission and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which plays a significant role in regulating pilgrimage affairs with advanced operational plans.
