Doha: Qatari newspapers addressed several topics in their Thursday editorials, focusing prominently on HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's meeting with HRH Minister of State and Member of the Council of Ministers of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prince Turki bin Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the accompanying delegation. During the meeting, discussions revolved around fraternal relations between the two nations and ways to support and develop them, along with exchanging views on topics and issues of mutual interest.
According to Qatar News Agency, the newspapers also gave significant attention to the decision by the Council of Arab Information Ministers at its 55th ordinary session in Cairo to designate Doha as the Arab Media Capital for 2027. This decision is seen as a broad Arab recognition of Qatar's role in developing the media landscape, supporting freedom of expression, enhancing professionalism, and adopting modern technology in digital communication.
The newspapers further highlighted the conclusion of MWC Doha 2025, a significant event in communications and digital innovation. This event attracted over 250 local, regional, and international companies and organizations. It served as a strategic platform to showcase advancements in communications, artificial intelligence, smart cities, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things.
Al-Watan newspaper commented on HH the Amir's meeting, emphasizing the strong relations between Qatar and Saudi Arabia, which serve as a model of brotherhood and constructive cooperation. The newspaper pointed out the importance of strengthening cooperation and continuous coordination, especially in light of the political and economic challenges facing the region.
Al-Watan concluded that the strong relations between the two countries have led to common positions in addressing regional challenges, thanks to the leadership's wise visions and guidance.
Al-Sharq newspaper noted the importance and priority given to the relations between Qatar and Saudi Arabia by HH the Amir and the leaders of Saudi Arabia. The newspaper referred to the meeting at the Amiri Diwan and the discussions held, highlighting the shared concern at the highest levels to strengthen relations between the countries.
