Tunis:HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani has declared that the State of Qatar was attacked on its territory by Iran, describing it as a blatant violation of sovereignty, international law, and principles of good-neighborly relations.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Amir made these remarks during the opening of the Shura Council's second ordinary session of the second legislative term, aligning with the Council's 55th annual session. He highlighted the role of Qatar's armed forces and security agencies in defending the nation, honoring the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the process.
The Amir emphasized that while Qatar remains committed to dialogue and peaceful solutions, this commitment does not equate to complacency in defending the country. He asserted that the right to defend sovereignty is consistent with efforts to prevent a broader conflict.
He concluded by reaffirming Qatar's long-standing preference for resolving disputes through dialogue, negotiation, and diplomatic means, a stance that continues to guide the country's approach to international relations.
