Qatar’s Expanding Role as a Global Mediator and Sporting Hub

Doha: In its editorial, Al-Raya newspaper emphasized that the State of Qatar is establishing itself as a significant mediator on the global stage through its principle of positive neutrality. The country is committed to providing a safe environment for negotiation, along with offering technical and political support to facilitate the convergence of viewpoints. Qatar's extensive international relations network allows it to effectively communicate with various actors, and its adherence to international law and United Nations resolutions enhances its credibility and reliability as a partner in political processes.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Raya highlighted Qatar's pivotal role in mediating between the government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Congo River Alliance. This effort culminated in the signing of the Doha Framework for the Peace Agreement, easing tensions and creating conditions for transparent dialogue. Al-Raya concluded its editorial by noting Qatar's vision of international security and peace as a shared responsibility, positioning Doha as a trusted mediator and global peacemaker amid ongoing global crises.

On the domestic front, Al-Watan daily reported on the National Development Forum organized by the National Planning Council under the patronage of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, and HE Secretary General Dr. Abdulaziz bin Nasser bin Mubarak Al Khalifa. The forum serves as a platform to discuss social development and the role of family, community, and national identity in supporting national prosperity.
