Doha: HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice and Chairman of the National Committee for International Humanitarian Law, Saeed bin Abdullah Al Suwaidi, has underscored Qatar's prominent role as it assumes the chairmanship of the Arab Permanent Committee for International Humanitarian Law. This development is seen as a testament to Qatar's commitment to fostering peace, justice, and humanitarian values.
According to Qatar News Agency, Al Suwaidi expressed his pride in the trust placed in him by Arab national committees, marking a significant milestone in Qatar's efforts to promote respect for international law and protect human dignity. The chairmanship not only reflects Qatar's active participation in regional humanitarian initiatives but also its pivotal role in the establishment of the Arab Permanent IHL Committee within the Arab League framework.
The Undersecretary emphasized that Qatar's leadership of the committee's inaugural session is a clear demonstration of its ability to transform initiatives into sustainable Arab institutions. He remarked on the significance of creating a permanent institutional framework that unites Arab national committees, enhances collaborative efforts, and facilitates the sharing of expertise.
