Doha: HE Governor of the Qatar Central Bank (QCB) Sheikh Bandar bin Mohammed bin Saoud Al-Thani held separate meetings with HE Governor of the Bank of England, Andrew Bailey, and HE President of the European Central Bank (ECB) Christine Lagarde. These discussions took place during the 96th Annual Meeting of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), which convened in Basel, Switzerland, on June 27-28, 2026.
According to Qatar News Agency, the meetings focused on exploring bilateral cooperation in the financial and banking sectors and identifying avenues for further enhancement. The discussions underscored the commitment of the involved parties to strengthen financial ties and foster collaboration in addressing global economic challenges.
