QSE Index Edges Higher at Market Open

Doha: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) general index edged up by 0.13% at the start of trading on Monday, gaining 15.35 points to reach 11,430 compared to the previous session's close.

According to Qatar News Agency, market data showed gains across five sectors, led by Telecoms, which rose 1.02%, followed by Real Estate, which increased by 0.89%. The Transportation sector also saw an uptick of 0.57%, while Consumer Goods and Services and Industrials rose by 0.45% and 0.04%, respectively.

Meanwhile, declines were recorded in the Banks and Financial Services sector, which fell by 0.18%, and the Insurance sector, which experienced a slight dip of 0.04%.

By 10:00 am, QSE reported a turnover of QR 78.064 million, with 26.321 million shares traded across 5,120 transactions.
