Doha: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) general index saw a decline of 0.48%, equating to a drop of 53.69 points, at the start of trading on Wednesday. The index fell to 11,175 points from the previous session's close, influenced by a downturn across all sectors.
According to Qatar News Agency, the market experienced pressure from several sectors including Transportation, which decreased by 0.70%, and Banks and Financial Services, which saw a decline of 0.58%. Additionally, Industrials fell by 0.27%, Consumer Goods and Services by 0.21%, Insurance by 0.14%, Real Estate by 0.04%, and Telecoms by 0.03%.
By 10:00 am, the trading turnover had reached QAR 60.551 million, with a total of 21.769 million shares being traded across 6,703 transactions.
