QSE Index Opens Lower Amid Sectoral Pressure

Doha: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) general index showed a decline as it opened lower on Monday, shedding 43.89 points, or 0.41%, to reach 10,674 points compared to the previous session's close. This downturn was influenced by the performances across six key sectors.

According to Qatar News Agency, the market saw significant pressure from the Banks and Financial Services sector, which dropped by 0.60%. Other sectors contributing to the decline included Transportation, which fell by 0.45%, Real Estate at 0.34%, Consumer Goods and Services at 0.28%, Telecoms also at 0.28%, and Insurance, which decreased by 0.24%. In contrast, the Industrials sector experienced a modest increase of 0.18%.

By 10:00 am, the trading turnover was recorded at QAR 62.346 million, with a total of 24.368 million shares being exchanged in 3,752 transactions.
