Post: QSFA Launches Comprehensive Sports Program for Women

Doha: The Qatar Sports for All Federation (QSFA), under the Ministry of Sports and Youth, is introducing a comprehensive package of sports activities and programs specifically for women and girls. This initiative is part of the Sports for All calendar, aiming to boost female participation in sports across various age groups, in acknowledgment of women's significant societal roles and to maximize their involvement in sports activities.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Federation detailed that the new activities include a "Ladies' Evening" every Tuesday at Education City Stadium. This event, in collaboration with the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, features competitions in sports such as volleyball, basketball, physical fitness, and badminton.

The QSFA also plans a series of summer races for women and girls at the Aspire Indoor Track on September 18, 25, and October 2, 9, with race distances tailored to different age groups.

QSFA's Executive Director Abdullah Al Dosari emphasized the vital role of women's sports and the necessity of integrating women into the community sports system across all age groups. He highlighted that the Federation organized approximately 38 championships and activities over the summer to enhance women's participation in sports and community events.

Al Dosari further stated that the Federation's goal is to foster a culture of sports through carefully designed programs catering to various age groups. These initiatives aim to provide a safe, motivating environment that respects women's privacy while supporting the Ministry of Sports and Youth's vision to broaden sports participation in society.

He reiterated the importance of widening access for women and girls to these programs, which are instrumental in promoting public health and increasing engagement in sports and physical activities.
