Post: Researchers Develop New Immunotherapy to Help Bladder Cancer Patients Avoid Bladder Removal Surgery

Doha: Researchers in the United States: Researchers in the United States have reported promising results from an advanced clinical trial of a new immunotherapy that enables patients with aggressive bladder cancer to avoid surgical bladder removal. According to Qatar News Agency, the study, published in The Lancet Oncology, found that the treatment helped a number of patients remain cancer-free for more than two years, with most experiencing only limited side effects. The trial involved 115 patients with high-risk bladder cancer who received the new treatment, Crytostemogen Grenadineribvic, after conventional treatment with Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) had failed. The researchers found that 81 percent of patients did not require bladder removal surgery two years after receiving the treatment. They concluded that the new immunotherapy could offer a promising treatment option for patients with high-risk bladder cancer by delivering durable responses and reducing the need for surgical bladder removal.
