Doha: The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Saturday that its forces have taken control of a new town in eastern Ukraine, eliminating 440 Ukrainian soldiers and downing 247 drones launched by Kyiv's forces.
According to Qatar News Agency, the ministry stated that Russian forces captured the town of Yablukovo in the Zaporizhzhia region. It further detailed that Ukrainian forces suffered the loss of 440 soldiers in operations conducted across 152 areas along the frontlines. Additionally, the operations resulted in the destruction of numerous armored combat vehicles, military trucks, artillery, ammunition depots, and electronic warfare stations.
Russia has reported advances in eastern Ukraine over the past few weeks, claiming control over several towns it has labeled as 'strategic.' Despite these announcements, Kyiv authorities have not denied these claims and continue to seek support from Western allies to counter Russian advancements.
