The acting Governor of the Kursk region in southwestern Russia, Alexei Smirnov, said that air defenses shot down 11 Ukrainian drones targeting the region last night. Smirnov had previously announced that three Ukrainian drones had been shot down in the region. Ukraine has intensified drone attacks on Russian regions in recent months. Russia began a special military operation in Ukraine on Feb. 24, 2022, and it does not appear that it is close to ending it, in light of Moscow's assertion that its special operation will continue until its full goals are achieved.
