Russian Defense Ministry Announces Elimination of 1,280 Ukrainian Soldiers, Downing of 357 Drones

Moscow: The Russian Ministry of Defense announced Wednesday that its forces killed 1,280 Ukrainian soldiers across various battlefronts in the past 24 hours and downed 357 drones with their air defense systems.

According to Qatar News Agency, the ministry stated that Russian forces targeted Ukrainian military units in 149 locations, leading to the deaths of 1,280 soldiers, and the destruction of several armored vehicles, cars, artillery pieces, a drone boat, ammunition depots, and electronic warfare stations.

The statement also noted that Russian tactical aviation, attack drones, and missile and artillery units carried out strikes on Ukrainian railway infrastructure utilized by the Ukrainian armed forces, as well as locations for the storage and launch of long-range drones.

Since the onset of the war on Feb. 24, 2022, Russia and Ukraine have regularly exchanged daily reports on battlefield progress, casualties, and thwarted attacks. However, the credibility of these reports remains unverifiable due to the complexities of the ongoing conflict and the difficulty of independent verification.
