Doha: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Sunday welcomed the recognition of the State of Palestine by Britain, Australia, Canada, and Portugal, stating that this recognition underscores the serious commitment of friendly countries to supporting the peace process and advancing the two-state solution based on relevant international resolutions.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Kingdom expressed hope that more countries would recognize the State of Palestine and take further positive steps that would contribute to fulfilling the aspirations of the Palestinian people to live in peace on their land. It also emphasized the importance of enabling the Palestinian Authority to fulfill its duties towards a future of security, stability, and prosperity for the Palestinian people.
