Jerusalem:Dozens of settlers entered the Al-Aqsa Mosque on Monday through Al-Maghariba Gate during designated incursion periods in the morning and afternoon, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces.
According to Qatar News Agency, these incursions are part of ongoing actions by settlers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, which have raised concerns among Palestinians about potential changes to the site's historical and legal status. The Jerusalem Governorate has reported that during the Jewish holiday season, 11,409 settlers entered the mosque, contributing to a total of 52,277 entrants since the start of the year.
During this period, the mosque's courtyards have been the site of public Talmudic prayers and rituals, conducted under police protection, particularly in the eastern area of the mosque. Palestinian groups have warned that such practices threaten to alter the site's status quo and could lead to a temporal and spatial division.
Israeli forces have continued to enforce tight restrictions around Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Old City, coinciding with the ongoing incursions and public religious activities. Palestinian entities emphasize that the entire 144-dunam area of the mosque is exclusively a place of worship for Muslims.
