Cascais: HE Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) Senior Vice President Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani, who is also the Qatar Olympic Committee President, participated Wednesday in the ANOC 27th General Assembly in Cascais, Portugal. The assembly saw the presence of ANOC President Dr. Robin Mitchell, International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Dr. Thomas Bach, and representatives from over 200 national Olympic committees, along with representatives from the IOC, international sports federations, and Olympic Games Organizing Committees. According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting focused on reviewing reports related to ANOC's programs and activities and presented its future plans. The assembly also covered discussions on reports regarding the Summer Olympic Games scheduled in Paris in 2024 and the upcoming Olympic Games. During the ANOC Awards ceremony, held on the sidelines of the General Assembly, HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani honored the Denmark handball team for being recognized as the best men's team at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
