According to Qatar News Agency, an official statement from the federation revealed that medical examinations conducted on the 18-year-old player confirmed a right ankle injury. Cubarsi will return to Barcelona to begin a rehabilitation program for recovery. Cubarsi sustained the injury during Spain's match against the Netherlands on Thursday in the first leg of the Nations League quarterfinals, which ended in a 2-2 draw. The defender had started the match but was unable to continue after being injured in the 41st minute.
