Muscat: Sultan Haitham bin Tarek of the Sultanate of Oman discussed several regional developments with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. The meeting highlighted Oman’s role in addressing key issues affecting the region.
According to Qatar News Agency, the UN Secretary-General expressed his appreciation of Omani efforts that contributed to easing maritime navigation through the Red Sea. Additionally, Oman played a key role in ending the armed conflict between the United States and the designated authorities in Yemen.
The discussions also included Oman’s mediation efforts between Iran and the U.S. concerning Iran’s nuclear program. These efforts underscore Oman’s commitment to fostering regional stability and peace through diplomatic channels.
