Damascus, Prospects to enhance and expand bilateral tourism work was the focus of speech conducted between Tourism Minister Mohammad Rami Martini and Pakistani Ambassador in Damascus Shahid Akhtar.
That came during a meeting at the ministry building, brought the two sides together with a number of Pakistani tourist office owners.
Speaking to SANA, Minister Martini said that 22 thousand Pakistani nationals visited Syria over the past year for cultural and religious tourism purposes, noting that the group hosted today includes the most prominent entrepreneurs in the field of investment and tourism and travel offices.
We encourage tourism from Syria to Pakistan, as it is a very beautiful and rich country characterized by a good and low-cost tourism , Martini said, indicating that the ministry is working to expand the scope of tourism cooperation so that the sector is integrated to include shopping, visiting archaeological sites, Forest bathing tourism and others.
Ambassador Akhtar, in turn, explained that th
e visit paid by tourism offices to Syria comes to explore the country after the war and to see the status of tourism companies along with the services provided in the tourism field, noting that there are several Syrian companies that will visit Pakistan during the upcoming period with the aim of coordinating the exchange of tourism groups.
