Doha: The Syrian Ministry of Defense announced that 11 servicemen were killed in an explosion in a Syrian army weapons depot on Friday, near the Ayyash area, west of the Deir Ezzor Governorate.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Ministry said in its statement on Saturday that it held a funeral procession for the fallen servicemen at the National Hospital in Deir Ezzor city. The ceremony was attended by officers, the relatives of the fallen, and their fellow service members.
The Syrian Defense Ministry emphasized that an investigation is still underway to determine the cause of the blast.
