Montreal: 18-year-old Canadian wild card Victoria Mboko clinched the Montreal Open title after an impressive victory over four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka, with scores of 2-6, 6-4, 6-1, marking her first WTA tour title.
According to Qatar News Agency, Mboko's journey to the title was remarkable as she secured victories against four Grand Slam champions: Sofia Kenin, Coco Gauff, Elena Rybakina, and Naomi Osaka. This achievement places Mboko as the second youngest in the Open Era to accomplish such a feat, following Serena Williams who first achieved it in 1999.
