Kirkuk: Three ISIS militants were killed today in Kirkuk Governorate, northern Iraq. Iraqi security sources said that security forces were able to kill three ISIS militants in a security operation in the Balkana Mountains in Kirkuk, adding that the operation was carried out by members of the Second Special Operations Command based on accurate intelligence.
According to Qatar News Agency, on December 9, 2017, Iraq announced the expulsion of ISIS militants and the establishment of full control over all Iraqi territory. However, sleeper cells affiliated with the organization remain active in some areas of the country.
