Turkish President: We Will Monitor Implementation of Ceasefire in Gaza

Istanbul: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed that his country will monitor the implementation of the ceasefire agreement between the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and the Israeli entity in the Gaza Strip, in addition to participating in the reconstruction of the Strip.

According to Qatar News Agency, Erdogan said in a statement Friday: "Finally, an agreement has been reached, paving the way for a lasting peace in Gaza. What matters now is the literal implementation of the agreement, and we will also do what is within our responsibility during the implementation phase."

He added: "We have done everything within our responsibility to ensure that calm, peace, and security prevail in Gaza," warning of the price of returning to the atmosphere of genocide in Gaza.

It is worth noting that a ceasefire agreement was reached between Hamas and the Israeli entity in the Egyptian city of Sharm el-Sheikh, and went into effect at noon Friday, as part of the first phase of US President Donald Trump's plan to end the war in the Gaza Strip.
