U.S. Navy Maintains Iran Maritime Blockade Amid Rising Tensions

Doha: The US military reaffirmed its commitment to enforcing a naval blockade on Iranian shipping. US Central Command said Friday it intercepted two Iranian oil tankers attempting to breach the restrictions and foiled attacks on three US Navy vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, responding with strikes on Iranian military targets.

According to Qatar News Agency, US President Donald Trump warned that military action could resume unless Iran agrees to a deal on the Strait of Hormuz and its nuclear program. Meanwhile, Secretary of State Marco Rubio called for a serious Iranian proposal to advance negotiations.

Reports also suggest Pakistan is preparing a 14-point peace draft to present to Washington and Tehran aimed at ending the conflict that began in late February.
