Abu dhabi: HH President of the UAE Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met Thursday with Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer, who is on a visit to the UAE. During their meeting, both leaders delved into developments in the Middle East and their implications for regional and international security, as well as the impact on maritime security, energy supplies, and the global economy.
According to Qatar News Agency, the discussion also addressed the ongoing Iranian terrorist aggression targeting civilians and infrastructure in the UAE and other regional countries. This aggression was noted as a violation of sovereignty, international law, and the UN Charter, posing a threat to regional peace and security.
Prime Minister Starmer reiterated the UK's condemnation of these attacks and expressed solidarity with the UAE. He affirmed the UK's support for the measures the UAE is taking to defend itself and ensure the safety and security of its territory and people.
In addition to security issues, the leaders reviewed the progress of UAE-UK relations and explored opportunities to enhance cooperation in ways that support their mutual interests.
