Post: UDST and Qatar Cool Sign Agreement to Enhance Collaboration

Doha:The University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) and Qatar Cool have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation in areas such as student innovation, applied learning, research, professional development, and sustainability.

According to Qatar News Agency, the MoU was signed at UDST by Dr. Salem bin Nasser Al Naemi, President of the University, and Nahar Saleh Al Mutawah, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Cool.

The collaboration aims to include student competitions, hackathons, innovation initiatives, research projects, curriculum development, internships, and training. These activities are designed to link academic learning with the current practices and challenges faced by the industry.

Dr. Salem Al Naemi emphasized that industry partnerships are vital to UDST's applied education model, allowing students to apply their knowledge to real-world challenges. The collaboration with Qatar Cool is intended to align education with industry needs, offering students meaningful opportunities to enhance their skills and innovation capabilities.

Nahar Al Mutawah highlighted the role of the next generation of engineers in creating innovative solutions for real-world challenges. The initiative aims to provide practical industry experience for students, bridging the gap between academic learning and business needs. The QC³ Hackathon is one such example, promoting energy efficiency and environmental stewardship, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.

The partnership also supports UDST's applied learning approach by integrating industry perspectives into the educational experience. This provides students with opportunities to engage with professionals, explore new technologies, and develop solutions that align with Qatar's energy and sustainability goals.
