Doha: The University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) organized a Student Recognition Ceremony under the theme "Stars of Tomorrow". This annual event celebrates a select group of students who have demonstrated exceptional accomplishments or contributions to various extra-curricular activities, in areas such as leadership, volunteerism, innovation, sports, community service, and more.
According to Qatar News Agency, the ceremony was attended by UDST President Dr. Salem Al Naemi, along with Vice Presidents, faculty members, student club mentors, distinguished partners, university staff, the nominated students, and their guests. This event reflects the University's strong commitment to fostering a culture of appreciation and promoting excellence among its students.
In his opening speech, Dr. Al Naemi emphasized the importance of supporting and empowering students, stating: "Tonight, we celebrate values that are at the core of our student community, commitment, collaboration, and creativity. These awards are not just about recognition; they reflect the future we are building together through education."
"By nurturing our students' skills, encouraging innovation, and providing the support they need, we help them achieve their highest potential. Excellence, a key pillar of our university's strategy, drives us to continuously enhance the student experience and prepare them for a promising future," he added.
More than 30 awards were distributed across two main categories: Student Engagement and Sport and Wellness. Among the most notable awards presented were: National Level Athlete of the Year (Male and Female), Leadership and Entrepreneurship, Community Outreach and Student Council Leadership, Most Active Club and Club Leader and Team of the Year.
The ceremony reaffirmed the role of the UDST in shaping well-rounded graduates, equipped to build the future and create a positive impact both locally and globally.
