UEFA Champions League: Arsenal Beat Atletico to Reach Final

Arsenal: Arsenal kept alive their pursuit of a first UEFA Champions League title, advancing to the final after a 1-0 victory over Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night at Emirates Stadium in London in the second leg of the semifinals. According to Qatar News Agency, Arsenal owed its win and passage to the final to its England international Bukayo Saka, who scored the game's only goal in the 45th minute. The English side beat its Spanish opponent 2-1 on aggregate over the two legs, after the first leg in Madrid ended in a 1-1 draw. Arsenal will meet in the final, scheduled for May 30 in Budapest, the winner of the second-leg clash between Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain, the defending champion. The first leg ended 5-4 in favor of the French team. It is the second time Arsenal has reached the final, having lost the 2005-06 final 2-1 to FC Barcelona. Atletico Madrid, meanwhile, fell short in its bid for a first Champions League title and a fourth appearance in the final, having previously lost in 1974, 2014, and 2016.
