Doha: The total combat losses of Russian troops in Ukraine from Feb. 24, 2022, to Jan. 5, 2025, surged to nearly 796,490 soldiers, including 1,730 killed or injured in the past 24 hours, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said in a statement.
According to Qatar News Agency, Ukraine’s Defense Forces destroyed 9,686 Russian tanks, 20,119 armored combat vehicles, 21,603 artillery systems, 1,257 MLRS, 1,032 air defense systems, 369 aircraft, 331 helicopters, 21,447 operational and tactical UAVs, 3,006 cruise missiles, 28 ships/boats, one submarine, 32,940 vehicles and tankers, and 3,677 special equipment.
Reports from Moscow and Kyiv often conflict over battlefield facts since the start of the Russia-Ukraine war in February 2022.
