Ukrainian Air Force announced Sunday that its air defense systems destroyed 13 drones launched by Russia over northern and central Ukraine. Ukrainian news agency (Ukrinform) quoted Ukraine's Air Force Commander Lieutenant General Mykola Oleschuk as saying that Russia launched, last night, 13 drones from the Kursk region, shooting them down in the regions of Kirovohrad, Kharkiv, Sumy and Poltava. Since the outbreak of the military operation in Ukraine in 2022, conflicting reports have emerged regarding the extent of losses suffered by both sides of the conflict. Each side claims to have inflicted severe losses on the other, but it has been difficult to independently verify the accuracy of this information due to the ongoing fighting.
