KYIV: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed Wednesday bills to extend the state of general mobilization and martial law in the country. According to Qatar News Agency, Zelensky's signing of the bills came after parliament approved extending the state of general mobilization and martial law for 90 days, until February 7, 2025. The martial law system was implemented in Ukraine with the start of the Russian military operation. Zelensky signed the general mobilization decree the day after the operation began, and it has been extended several times since then. Russia launched what it described as a special military operation in Ukraine on February 24, 2022. There seems to be no immediate end in sight, as Russia has confirmed that its operation will continue until its objectives are fully achieved.
