Kyiv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed during his meeting on Monday with US Special Envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg, strengthening Ukraine's air defense capabilities and ways to purchase weapons with the support of European countries.
According to Qatar News Agency, Zelenskyy stated on the X platform: "We discussed the path to peace and what we can practically do together to bring it closer. This includes strengthening Ukraine's air defense, joint production, and procurement of defense weapons in collaboration with Europe. And of course, sanctions against Russia and those who help it."
He indicated that Moscow will not stop its ambitions by force unless they are curbed, emphasizing the importance of the UN's role in this regard.
This meeting comes a day after US President Donald Trump announced his intention to send Patriot air defense missiles to Ukraine and ahead of the expected unveiling of a new US plan to supply Kyiv with offensive weapons.
