UNICEF Reports Alarming Child Casualties in Lebanon Amid Ceasefire

Beirut: The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) confirmed that 11 children were killed or injured on average every 24 hours in Lebanon last week, amid escalating Israeli airstrikes despite the ceasefire.

According to Qatar News Agency, since the ceasefire began in April, 55 children have been killed and 212 others injured, UNICEF spokesperson Ricardo Pires stated. He highlighted the significant toll on children, emphasizing the severity of the situation.

Pires further noted that 77 children were killed or injured in the past seven days alone. This statistic underscores the ongoing risks children face due to the persistent hostilities in the region.
