UNRWA: Israeli Occupation Detains 6,000 Trucks Enough for Gaza for 3 Months

Doha: The media advisor for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) Adnan Abu Hasna, stated that Israeli occupation authorities are detaining 6,000 UNRWA trucks loaded with food supplies sufficient for the Gaza Strip for three months, in addition to hundreds of thousands of tents and blankets intended for approximately 1.3 million Palestinians, amidst the worsening humanitarian crisis.

According to Qatar News Agency, Abu Hasna added in a statement on Monday that the number of trucks currently entering Gaza exceeds the rate that entered before the ceasefire, but he emphasized that these quantities are insufficient to meet the enormous needs within the Strip.

He said that the occupation authorities continue to prevent the entry of health supplies, water, and food, stressing that most of Gaza's residents are entirely dependent on humanitarian aid due to their lack of purchasing power.

He noted that humanitarian organizations submit requests to bring in essential materials such as spare parts for desalination and sewage treatment plants, medical equipment, and international teams and staff, but the occupation authorities reject most of these requests.
