Gaza City: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has issued a stark warning regarding the deteriorating chances of survival for an estimated 65,000 to 75,000 civilians in the northern Gaza Strip.
According to Qatar News Agency, UNRWA released a statement highlighting the severe conditions faced by those remaining in the besieged area. For over 50 days, the civilians in Jabalia, Beit Lahiya, and Beit Sahour have been largely cut off from essential humanitarian aid due to ongoing hostilities. Despite numerous attempts by the United Nations to deliver life-saving assistance, access has been consistently denied or impeded.
The agency further noted the impact of the recent heavy rains and dropping temperatures over the past three days, which have exacerbated the plight of thousands of families. These families, having fled besieged areas, are now enduring harsh conditions without adequate shelter, blankets, or mattresses to protect them from the cold and rain.

t emphasized the severity of the situation, revealing that between October 6 and November 25, 2024, the United Nations made 91 attempts to deliver humanitarian aid to the affected areas. Unfortunately, 82 of these attempts were outright denied, with the remaining nine obstructed, leaving the residents in dire need. “The situation is beyond miserable,” UNRWA remarked, underscoring the urgent need for international attention and intervention.
