Post: US Dollar Holds Steady Amid Market Fluctuations

Taipei:The US dollar remained stable against major currencies on Friday as US stocks declined, prompting investors to seek refuge in safe-haven assets. This shift was influenced by falling US Treasury yields and market anticipation for further clarity on the trajectory of US interest rates.

According to Qatar News Agency, the euro held its ground at USD 1.1222, setting it on a course for a weekly gain of 0.5 percent, marking a reversal after two consecutive weeks of losses.

The Japanese yen experienced a 0.2 percent increase to 157.40 against the dollar, reaching a one-week high before slightly reducing its gains. Similarly, the Swiss franc rose by 0.2 percent against the dollar. Meanwhile, the US Dollar Index, which evaluates the dollar's performance against a basket of six major currencies, remained steady at approximately 101.55.

In addition, the British pound saw a modest increase of 0.1 percent to USD 1.3457 following the Bank of England's decision to raise interest rates, which aligned with market expectations.
