He emphasized that this could mark the beginning of commercial negotiations and long-term trade benefits for both Europe and the US, while acknowledging that disagreements exist between the parties on issues such as trade. The European Commission President highlighted that trade relations between the EU and the US are the largest globally, with annual trade exceeding USD 1.5 trillion. Von der Leyen mentioned that both parties have exchanged talking points for future discussions, emphasizing that experts should now work on the details to reach a mutually beneficial agreement.
