US President Orders Deployment of Two Nuclear Submarines in Response to Russian Statements

Washington: US President Donald Trump announced today that he had ordered the deployment of two nuclear submarines in response to what he considered "highly provocative" statements made by a Russian official. Trump wrote in a post on his Truth Social platform, "Based on the highly provocative statements of the Former President of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev... I have ordered two Nuclear Submarines to be positioned in the appropriate regions, just in case these foolish and inflammatory statements are more than just that. Words are very important, and can often lead to unintended consequences, I hope this will not be one of those instances."

According to Qatar News Agency, Deputy Chairman of the Russian National Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, earlier described Trump's ultimatum to Moscow to end the war in Ukraine as "a threat and a step toward war." The situation has escalated tensions between the two nations, with Trump's decision to position nuclear submarines as a precautionary measure reflecting the gravity of the diplomatic friction.

The deployment of the submarines is seen as a demonstration of military readiness and a signal of the United States' commitment to responding to potential threats. This move has drawn international attention and raised concerns about the potential for increased military tensions in the region.
