US Stock Indices Start Trading Higher


New York: Major stock indices on Wall Street opened higher at the start of trading on Tuesday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average opened higher, rising 246.0 points, or 0.59 percent, to 41,849.04, while the Standard and Poor’s 500 index rose 51.3 points, or 0.88 percent, to 5,854.07. The Nasdaq Composite Index gained 277.2 points, or 1.48 percent, to 19,014.436.
