Doha: YouTube has announced that it will begin reducing the number of ads that appear in the middle of videos when interrupting dialogue sentences or important scenes, starting May 12. The company aims to enhance viewer experience by strategically placing ads at more natural pauses within video content.
According to Qatar News Agency, YouTube explained on its official website that it will add automatic ad breaks at natural pauses in old videos that have manually selected their ads, with the ability to disable this option for content creators. This new feature will allow creators to have more control over ad placements, potentially improving viewer retention by minimizing disruptions.
YouTube will also provide a new tool to help them determine whether the ad spots they have chosen are interrupting the content. This tool is designed to assist creators in optimizing ad placements without negatively impacting the flow of their content.
In 2024, a YouTube experiment showed that videos that used a mix of automatic and manual ads saw a 5 percent increase in revenue compared to content that relied only on manual breaks. This data suggests that the new system could be financially beneficial for content creators, encouraging them to adopt the mixed ad strategy.
