Beijing: The first China-Arab Culture and Tourism Cooperation Conference convened in Beijing, China.
According to Qatar News Agency, a statement by the Arab League reported that the convention was part of a busy week featuring intensive activities, noting the conclusion of a professional workshop for culture and tourism officials and experts from Arab countries, hosted by the Chinese city of Shenzhen, with the participation of a delegation of Arab specialists.
These events came as a direct implementation of the outcomes of the first 2022 China-Arab States Summit, along with the 10th Ministerial Conference of the Arab-Chinese Cooperation Forum in 2024, reflecting the shared political desire to reinforce relationships, given the long-standing bonds and strategic partnership between the Arab world and China, said Director of the Culture and Dialogue of Civilizations Department at the Arab League, Advisor Yousef Badr Mishari.
He noted the Global Civilization Initiative, launched by Chinese President Xi Jinping, which represents a far-reaching vision to foster mutual respect, inclusivity, and dialogue among civilizations.
The establishment of the China-Arab Center for the Global Civilization Initiative constitutes a practical translation of this vision on the ground. President Xi also commended the dedicated efforts of the China-Arab Center for Cultural and Tourism Cooperation in ensuring the success of related events, as well as the pivotal role played by the Department of International Exchange and Cooperation of the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism, which oversaw and supported the conference under its official auspices, Mishari pointed out.
Finally, Mishari underscored that these consequential events represent profound steps toward building the Chinese-Arab community with a shared future in this new era, for the interests of the Arab and Chinese peoples and the achievement of the intended development.
